Let's start with the cost... ~$68 is way too much for any scale, postal or otherwise. Then you pull the product out of the great packaging and are somewhat excited to see that someone finally thought of granting enough USB cable to u7 reach somewhere. I was in a hurry and just wanted to weigh my package. So I went searching for the AC adapter, there is none, and not even a place to plug one in if you wanted. Instead there is a cover for 3 AAA batteries. Upon opening this cover the first thing I z is how poorly constructed the contacts are. These are the traditional spring loaded contacts, and the ones on this unit are bent. I put the batteries in anyways. Thankfully it powers on. Taring the scale initially does nothing. This is when I notice the dead areas on the cheap monochrome LCD display, and it won't zero out either! I tare it a couple more times, and it finally zeros out. However the pixels are still dead. I go to weigh my package and to my dismay I cannot see the numbers being as there is no backlight, and of course because of the dead pixels I cannot read the entire figure. These are all deal breakers for me: Price, Dead Pixels, No Backlight, Battery Powered or USB only... This unit is going back first thing tomorrow.

This scale says it is powered by A/C adapter - it is not. It can be powered by batteries or USB - no A/C.
